I am servicing my CDR valve and I was wondering how it works. I have it all cleaned up. If I shine a light into either of the ports I can see the light through the other port. Is this normal?
The CDR valve I pulled off has an AC stamp in it. I guess that means AC Delco? Could this be the wrong valve for this engine or could it be like many other parts and be the same part used for other engines?
I cleaned my CDR, first time since I owned the truck. Previously I have noticed blowby comming out of the dip stick tube, I will see if cleaning CDR valve will help?
I know someone suggested replacing my CDR valve but I wanted to do a little test before I did. I installed it back on my engine and started it up. I then looked down into the intake while it was running and noticed that there was a noticeable amount of crankcase vapor flowing in from the CDR valve. Should the CDR valve eliminate all vapor from entering the intake or will it let some in? I just want to make sure I need the valve before I buy it. Thanks.
