I am looking at a Chilton book for Vans 1961-88. The chart is for the 6-300 years 1973-1988.
#1 and #2 Comp. ring gaps are both the same at 0.0100-0.0200.
The Oil Control ring gap is 0.015-0.055 except for
year 1977, which is 0.015-0.035
and 1985-1988 gap is .010-0.055.
This info is what Chilton has listed as noted above. I hope this is of some use. I for one do not want to make a boat anchor, so check around some more.
You might list the year of the motor because of the different specs I see listed.
I guess you are using stock replacement slugs? Don't know for sure.
