what type of brakes does a 92' ranger take. it has rear ABS but that's all i know. my sister's boyfriend's uncle can do the brakes i just need to know what to buy. also the stuff around it needs changed/replaced too. any and all help appriciated.
You need to determine if you have 9 or 10" drums, the parts store should be able to help or you can pull the tire, it's stamped on the drum. Also get a hradware kit, that should have all the other parts for the rear brakes.
Ok it is a 1999 ranger with 4x4 4.0 eng 10 inch drums with the abs sensor in the rear end.I am going to try and pick up a scaner today so i can get some codes .I already cleaned all 3 sensors and i am thinking of replacing the one in the rear end becuase its so cheep. The light was on before i relaced pads, rotors, drums shoes spring kits ,wheel cylinders.and i have a great pedal and it stops great.I can't get a state sticker with the light on.
After I replaced my master cylinder, my ABS and Brake light were on for a while. I drove it because I had plenty of pedal, and after about ten miiles of aggressive braking, the brake light went out. I then restarted the truck and the ABS light was out, too. Maybe yours will do the same, sure saved me a lot of trouble.
Ok my ABS light is on and i just check the codes with my new Actron cp9135 and it is reading PASS but the light is still on any ideas other then pulling the bulb ????
