My 99 f150 2wd 5spd standard transmission pickup almost got stuck in sand today. Finally got it out and it smelt like the clutch got a little hot. When I got in it to leave the truck wouldn't move. Will only shift with the truck off! Truck BARELY will move if clutch is PRESSED to the floor? Truck is down by the river and rain is expected! Please Help.
Thanks
How is your clutch pedal? Is it firm like before or does it just go to the floor with no effort? Sounds like a hydraulic problem, do you have fluid in the resovior, or is any fluid leaking?
Okay, so its not a hydraulic issue. Can you tow the truck to a shop or to your house if you prefer to do your own work? It will definatly have to come apart now, a number of things could have been messed up, not too familier with it but someone will be along who can get into specifics with you. You can also try posting a little further down the page in the trans. forum.
