My '86 F-250 4sp 4x4 6.9 feels like it's running on 4 cylinders instead of 8. I cracked the lines on each injector and only found one that did not change the idle. I assume that's my bad injector, but can one bad injector make my truck run that bad? It shudders all through 2nd and 3rd gears and then smoothes out at cruising speed in 4th. I'm a newbie to diesels, so any help is greatly appreciated. This forum is the best thing ever.
Thanks

Based on your test it sure sounds like you found the bad injector.
Depending on how old your IP and injectors are it would be probalby prudent to go for a new IP and injectors. Purchase cost for the IP and injectors (all new) should be in the range of ($US600 to $US800) might be a little more if you buy from Ford.
Given the price of a new IP and injectors it is probalbly not worth fooling around with rebuilt IP's or replacing only the one bad injector.
