SD or MAF?

Someone asked and I didn't know, is a 94 F250 5.8L mass air or speed dens.?

IIRC, that year could be either. 1 big tube from air intake = mass air. 2 smaller tubes = speed density.

Either one, wouldn't you know it. I know the difference and I'd look for myself but the truck is 75 miles from me. Thanks.

It's a 250, my guess is that it is most likely speed density.

The question put to me pertains to putting a 91 F250 5.8L/ZF cab on a 94 F250 5.8L/ZF and how different the wiring and computer would be. If the 94 is SD, the 91 surely is, wouldn't it be simpler to stay with the 91 electricals? The 94 5.8L would run fine off of the 91 controls wouldn't it? The 94 is a plain Jane XL and the 91 is a Lariat with all the options so he wants to keep the 91 cab wiring.

To my knowledge, 250's were never factory MAF; they were all SD.

Yes, the 94 engine will run fine using the 91 electronics, provided everything is swapped over. I'm not sure that individual pieces will be interchangeable, though.
