Question Deactivating Keypad Remote

I recently purchased a used 2005 Expedition locally and wanted to know how to deactivate the keypad remote locks. I called the dealership and was told that I couldn't change the permanent code set by the factory, thus if someone knows the code, they'll always have access to the vehicle. Is this true? I know you can add a personal code, but it doesn't override the factory code.

Therefore, is there a way to disable the keypad so it can't be used any longer?

Thanks for all your help!!!

Hey Ron, welcome to the site! If there is a way to turn off the factory code, I'm not aware of it. Someone else may poke their head in here and say differently. Let's see what happens.

How about a fuse? Or remove the door panel and pull the plug?

once you overwrite the factory code it won't work unless you disconnect the battery to erase your new code.
