I have a 71 F250 4x4 and have a few questions. The bed and rear cab and doors have alot of rust. I have a friend with a desent cab and bed I may swap for mine and repaint. My question is I would prefer to get an earlyer body style and was wondering if the 66 and older style would bolt up. I would also like to find a step side for it. It is currently a long bed. Did they make a long bed step side that would bolt on? Just wondering what my options are. The truck runs great but need s some help body wise.
Thanks

The 4wd frame has the rear cab mounts on the outside of the frame rails whereas 2wd mounts are inside the rails. I know the 67-72 cabs have hole locations for either or. I'm not sure about the older ones. Beside that, you can use the older body style on your frame. Also, they did make an 8' long "Flareside" bed. Stepside is a chebby term, but who's keeping track?
I should mention that this type swap has been discussed here in the past as well as the 61-66 forum.
