Looking to buy
Hi all, I've been thinking about purchasing a bronco. I'm particular to the 78-79 or later 90's models. I also like the pre 78's. What I'm wondering is what's the best combination to look for the best fuel mileage. I am not familiar with the different engine/transmission options available. I do know I'd like to stay with an automatic. The reason I ask is because I have to drive about 600 miles to college. Thanks for the input

My suggestion is to start reading. The red link in my signature or the FAQ thread at the top of this forum will give you all of the info you mentioned and more. Don't let the FAQ's scare you into not buying. They are just answers to some of the most common questions seen here in the forum. Be sure to follow the link to the Big Bronco Timeline for changes in equipment and options throughout the years. If you want info about the "early Bronco" I suggest you check that forum or any of the innumerable "early Bronco" websites out there. The original body and styling began in 1966 and remained through 1977. 1978 was the first year for the "Big Bronco". 1996 was the last. The fullsize Bronco and the F-series half-ton models were virtually identical in their equipment options thoughout the run of the fullsize.
