I have been using Zero Rust on My daughters floor pans and have been having a sanding problem. When I start sanding with an 80 grit the sandpaper seems to clog up almost emmediatley and is rendered usless.I used a medium dry laquer thinner and let it set for two weeks before sanding. It just does not set up or sand like regular primer.Do I need to change thinner? Thanks for any advice.

Would spraying it down with a household cleaner help any? Like 409, or bleach?
I'd try that, because it helped me when I was sanding/bondoing/painting some MDF, for a speaker box... It got alot smoother when wet, and i didnt clog up as much
Roger,I am repairing a rust problem that occured under the carpet. We are not putting the carpet back in and would like the floor pan area to have a little better apearance as it is very pitted now.

GOt it...I used por 15 in my kids bronco- pics in gallery and it has the same problem. My plan is to get some of the primer that goes on por 15 and allows topcoating. Then I'll use some inexpensive roll-on bedliner that will cover it all and add insulation and extra noise supression. My sons a musician guitarist and has to haul his stacks around so I'll also throw in some carpet. What do you think of zero rust? The por 15 appears to work really well but need time to tell.
I hope your having as much fun working on your daughters ride as i am my 16 y/o sons. Then my daughter is next- turns 15 this summer. I paid $500 for the bronco in the gallery and am going through everything.
Roger,I have used Zero Rust on My 71 floor pans and I really like the product. I have recently been told that I should be using xylene as a reducer and it will sand out like normal primer. It has a very good rust inhibitor and probably works as good as Por 15 but is cheaper.Sounds like you have as many projects as I do,hope they all turn out good.
