any ideas on replacing the factory cat.my is shot.the new ones are around $400.00.do not really want to spend that much on one.

solution

Hollow the factory cat out located inside the y pipe. Then install an aftermarket cat after the y pipe. It will save you a lot of money and work just as well.

What size motor? If it is a 5.8L go to Autozone,$173.00.,made by Maremount,Carquest wanted $250.00
