My 2000 f250 v10 will idle up and down from 800rpm to 1000rpm while sitting at alight. I am thinking a Idle air control, yes,no? what do you guys think?

I am thinking that you are right....IAC. A good DIY job. Aftermarket parts are just as good as dealer on this part...just so you'd know.

Well, mine did that too, except that I've got a manual. So when I took my foot off the gas and went into an intersection the engine would occasionally die, especially on a hill - did it a half dozen times and a couple got scary. I took it in and they replaced the TPS. Now it idles rock solid and never dies.

TPS is (I think) Throttle Position Sensor, and yes, the IAC is probably your best bet. Also keep in mind though that mine is a 2005.
