Okay, I'm going to remove this bad boy myself so I'm looking for some advice before I go in turning wrenches. Oh, and I do have a transfer case to deal with as well.
I recommend using a heavy duty transmission jack, when I swapped the 435 on my 78 F150 I used my floor jack with a homemade adapter to keep the transfer case level. I pulled the transfer case separately from the transmission. It looked good to me until the transfer case fell off and landed on my finger. Needless to say it was broken (my finger, not the transfer case) and I ended up with 5 stitches in it to boot. Be carefull, those are heavy units.
Thanks for the responses guys. I found it rather easy to remove the tranny especially with the tranny adapter on the jack.
She shifted so smooth before but ran very, very noisy. Now it's hard to get use to shifting because it isn't quite as smooth. Would this be normal since I have new syncros installed?
