quick exhaust question!

ok fine 2 questions... first... whats ths stock exhaust size of the 4.6/5.4L engines in the '06?

second.... is there any reason y a cat back exhaust from a 4.6/5.4L couldnt be used on the 4.2L?

may sound dumb but im just curious.....

the pipes are 2.5" on the 4.6 and possibly the same on the 5.4

Just how hard is it to replace the stock muffler with an aftermarket one? imean just the muffler itself. I know that dam thing looks like its almost 3 feet long!

ya its not hard i know.... but seeing as i dont have acces to a welder i cant just weld new hangers onto a custom exhaust......

lilmustangboy, sorry If I came off the wrong way, I didn't mean for the post to read like that. What I meant is, that I am actually thinking of trying to get away cheap and just replace my muffler only.

I had my muffler replaced with a Magnaflow 12256 18". It cost me $140 total for the muffler installed which included a pretty significant piece of make up pipe with a few bends, 2 new custom hangers and a chrome tip.

thats about double for me as i am in canada lol

i will probably just buy a cat-back as its easier to install and less time consuming.....
