Anyone else here having problems with thier PIE Adapter? Everytime I apply power to the radio after it being off for more than a few minutes, it cycles thru all the CDs in the changer. I disconnected the adapter and the radio did not cycle.
When I called PIE Tech support, they seem suprised by this and put me off until next thursday for some answers (saying that they were going to run some tests on some F150's at a dealer).
I have seen a few similiar posts, related to the radio no defaulting to AUX, but not much else.
They should not be surprised, as I had this identical issue and spoke with them about it. They sent me a new chip, which solved the problem. Now, mine will revert back to the radio usually, but this is normal according to them, as it runs through the dvd hookup. They claim that when you turn it off in dvd mode, it will usually come back on in the radio mode. At any rate, the new chip did stop my cds from cycling. Good luck.
In the meantime, I did some more experimenting and figured out that if I just wire it with the switched turn-on for the stereo instead of the constant groung the CD won't search.
You may want to double check and make sure if you do that you still maintain your presets, etc... Without a constant hot, you most likely will lose any thing from memory.
I do not recall anything about a number on the chip, but their tech support should know about this. I had bought mine from Logjam, and they told me to contact PIE and ask for a certain guy, who I can't recall right now, but if I do later, I will let you know. Sorry.
