Red face check out bed-rug

why not check out the bedrug....it is tough, cleanable and soft plus you can haul stuff in it...not a hard plastic so it does not wear paint......easily removable unlike rhino, line-x, etc. seems to be best of both worlds to me...do some research and you'll find, Ford offers the same bed rug with the ford logo...may be a good alternative...i'm getting one anyway...oh yeah, check the prices as they vary a lot...truck add-ons and kyleent who posts on either this or one of the other ford truck boards sells them decent priced....just my 2 cents

If the bed of your truck rusted out in 2.5 years I believe you have a much bigger problem than what bedliner to use.
Sprayed in bedliner look like a dirty old tire. You can't argue the fact they look like crap. Spray in also allows for dents scapes and just looks nasty after a load or two of dirt.
Spray in also decreases the resale value of your truck because of the way it looks once it is dirty, scraped up and dented.
With the drop in liners just pull them out and throw them away if they begin to look bad.

wow, you guys are really picky about the way your truck bed looks. The bed was meant to be used. To purely protect the bed from damage, the spray-on kind is the way to go. I don't see how a plastic liner will protect the bed from getting dents. When I can scrape the $700 bucks together, I'm getting the Rhino liner put on my truck if I don't get the Hard Tonneau cover.

I guess if all you're going for is looks, that padded rug thing does sound like the way to go.

the bed rusted out because the bedliner blocked up the drain holes and I had standing pools of water sitting in the front edge of the bed underneath the liner. after the bedliner scraped the paint off, it allowed the water to do it's magic (I live in Washington state where it rains 8-9 months a year)

Just my own personal experience, on my 1991 F-150, I had a Load Lok in it since new. Bed never rusted out and it held up well. One feature I really liked about the load lok was it had several slots in it to set 2x4's in to secure loads in place. When I traded my 91 2 months ago, I had them install the last 6.5 foot load lok they had left.

like i said, Ford offers it's own version of bedrug (made by bedrug with FORD logo)...it costs a little more than bedrug of course...i'm going with bed rug for less than 300 if you look around on web...i think ford wants ~450?

I got the ford bedliner, its my second one, they can take a beating. Ive had no problems with noise or water. Its always an argument to get the drop in which things slide in or the spray on which does not slide. I prefer the drop in which slides because I sometimes haul heavy furnature which is a bear to get out with the spray on. I just use my tie down ropes to secure the load..........works great.

I have the factory bedliner. It was thrown in for free. I sure wasn't going to pay the 250 they wanted for it, I would have just got a rubber mat. Now 2 years down the road i'm going to buy a rubber mat to put in it because i'm tired of stuff sliding around. Tying little stuff down is a real hassle.

If you read the entire thread, you can see that people have different needs from their truck's bed. Spray-on's, drop-in's, and Bedrug all have pros and cons.

I will say this, if you need a drop-in, I've got many to choose from and they are FREE; darn things are like rabbits and I can't hardly give'em away. This is an old pic, I've got more:

Well, at least spray-ons stay in. Drop-ins can fly out of truck beds. As a matter of fact, here's a recall on some drop-ins for fear of them coming out of beds:
http://ebusiness.durakon.com/Pressre...e.aspx?PRID=39

You don't have to put up with "YUK" spray-ons anymore. This particular LINE-X bedliner with Xtra is quaranteed for life not to fade, lose it's gloss, or come off.
