I have an 84 BII, I just got it running,(new trans) and i bought it a couple weeks ago. It starts fine and sounds good now driving it but I put a cd player in and fixing some stuff today when I started checking fuses. I replaced a few that were blown and my Oil pressure light is on. I have been driving it and have not heard any knocking noises or any thing that sounds bad except for an exhaust leak. is there a port to where I can hook up a gauge to see what my oil pressure actually is? Is it near the oil filter its self? Or is it somewhere else? Thanks!
Try getting a new sending unit and/or checking the wire going to the unit to see if it's shorted to ground or even hooked up. The sender is on the front of the engine at the bottom, just above the oil pan on the driver's side.
I do need to adjust my lifters, I can hear a light clicking. Its hard to tell because I have a few exhaust leaks also. Can mis-adjusted lifters directly effect oil pressure? they are a mechanical lifter not a hydraulic so I wouldnt think so..... Anyone?

I'm not sure about whether or not they would affect your oil pressure, but any wear and tear on bearings and all will have an overall affect on things, including performance. If you do the valvetrain adjustment, make sure you have new valve cover gaskets and sealant handy and plan on spending the good part of a Saturday or Sunday doing it. If the 2.8's are anything like the 2.9's, taking the valve covers off and putting them back on is a b*tch
I would also suggest either getting a completely new exhaust system, or hoping that you can patch it up with a mig welder (I prefer the former solution vice the latter)... as the noise from the leaks may mislead you in finding problems, including a plugged-up cat
