Sand is all about flotation. The wider the foot print the easier it will be to stay up ontop of the sand. I've run as low as 10psi. You'll be amazed at the diff it makes when you air down.
problem i have with dually offroad trucks is the rear wheels get big rocks caught between the 2 tires and when they get spinning the rocks become high projectile missiles looking for a head to bash in!
otherwise i would think that one large tire as opposed to 2 small tires would do better! but i dunno
