oil leak

1994.5 psd,Noticed a slight oil leak under the truck and looks like it's coming from a plug directly behind the starter or possilbly higher up.Is this plug and oil gallery? Looks like 1/4 pipe plug. Also while looking at the leak noticed the brake line under the engine slightly leaking.Figured I'd better get that fixed first, made up new line installed and bleed and now brake feels fine but holding in the brake with the engine running the pedal slowly goes to the floor.Took for a ride in the country here and works ok put the pedal hits the floor sitting at a stop .Looked for any leaks and the reservoir stay at the same level after half hour drive with a lot of braking.Any ideas.
Thanks Jake

if its the 1/4 plug that is the fuel rail and you can buy the oring to fix that or it could possibly be the 1/2 drive oil galley plug.

Fuel Rail Plug O-Rings (the small 1/4" square drive drain at ends of heads )
(International) 182261891 (1815734C1 ?)

High Pressure Oil rail end plugs Large plugs at each end of heads; incl. o-rings
(International) 1827535C94 (new style, blue o-ring)

I would guess you still have air in the system. You may have to bleed the other side as well. If not air then I would look at the master cylinder.

the plug is in the block right behind the starter, looked like a coolant drain but quit a bit of oil around it. going to try bleeding the brakes again for the third time.looked like a master cyl. problem to me but before the line broke everything was fine.

It is a coolant drain. The oil has to be coming from higher up.

Brake problem - I changed my back brakes wk ago. Everything was working fine but had a noise .... anyway had a broke spring on one side which I replaced and also put the new shoes on. Now I have the same problem with the brake peddle going down when you press on the pedal, the truck stops fine but the pedal will slowly go to the floor. I am thinking the shoes may need some more adj but have not had time, hopefully tomorrow morning will get it. I have read several post of this same problem and no good answers.

Oil leak - I have learned to live with these leaks. If you worry about them you wont get any sleep. My truck also has a leak on the back side of the motor (silver dollar sized spot on the blacktop). The rear main was replaced last summer when the clutch was replaced. No change. I change my oil every 5K and you can not tell the oil level has changed from new to change time. couldnt be leaking much.... But I sure would like to get it fixed.

good luck
