Turbo swap?

Anyone know how hard it is to replace the old 7.3 non turbo with a powerstroke?

The bolt in part is easy, getting it to run is a wiring nightmare.

Power Stroke engines are fly by wire electronic everything. They do not even have a mechanical linkage to the throttle, it is by wire.

You now have a mechanical engine, it uses electricity to turn the starter, and turn the fuel on and off.

Yes it can be done, but you better have an entire donor truck to rob parts off of, you are going to need a bunch of them and a lot of time.

Get a turbo for your 7.3 IDI and you will not want all the Power Stroke headaches.
Way more to maintain, way more to fix, and you are not going to be working on much of it with the tools you have now.
