Rear cab mounts - no nuts!
Ok, so I'm crawling around under the 68 Ranger, cleaning anything that I can put a greasy rag on. I have found some loose nuts and bolts - on a cross member, on an engine mounting perch, missing bolts altogether on a crossmember, but last night I noticed that neither one of my rear cab mounts (at least, thats what I think they are - big rubber bushings on the back corners of the cab) have nuts on the studs!
Is it common for those to be missing, or did someone forget to put them back on?

Without me going down to the garage and crawling under my 69 Ranger I would guess that the thick bushings you are describing are threaded so nuts aren't needed. I will check this out to make sure this weekend.
