best sign ever

At a burger king restaurant there was a sign that read "picture menus available upon request" So I ask the person at the register what the picture menus were for? She said that they were for people who couldn’t read! So I asked her how they would know that you had picture menus? She looked at me like I was stupid and said "they would read the sign" I simply said "OK" and ordered my lunch, remembering not to argue with a fool as the listener doesn’t know they are wrong.

ROFL! The funny part is that the register person was probably serious.

Thats as good as seeing the sign that says Braille menu available in the drive thru at McDonalds
Or one of my personal favorites would be for Dirty Dicks Crab Shack in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, all it says is " I Got My Crabs From Dirty Dicks"

When I worked at the Grand Canyon we had to have Braille on our door signs, and we were a sightseeing helicopter operation. Why would a blind person go sight seeing?
I guess they could bring their dog!!!!!

That is something that I have always wondered. I will ask next time I go to a Burger King to see what response I get. I do remember seeing those signs though.

Because the buttons are mass produced and they are normally made for inside machines where blind people can walk.

Why go to the expense of making special buttons for drive thru machines ?

Which brings me to my next question. How does the blind person know if the ATM machine gave him/her the correct amount of cash? How does he/she know what the machine is instructing him/her to do at any givin moment? The buttons might be able to be read, but not the screen and I have never used an ATM machine that followed the exact same procedure for processing you transaction.

In Canada the bills are identifiable by the Blind.

Plus, our newer machines only spit out $20 's as the amount being taken has to be in multiples of $20.00

I don't know about in the US.

you dang Canadians always got to make things easy, don't you??
here in the states, we have a government that will spend 50 million to redesign the penny so it is easier to identify it from a quarter.

I still don't get it...every burger king I ever went to had pictures of every meal available hanging behind the cash register.
I smell the work of dirty rotten lawyers here. Some civil rights group probably sued BK claiming discrimination against non-english speaking or illiterate people.

I was good freinds with a blind kid in college. The stuff that kid could do was incredible. I was headed back to school via the Amtrak and was in union station in chicagp when I heard the rap rap of a blind persons cane, I looked up and lo and behold Ryan was walking through the station.
