I have a 2001 f350 PSD w/50,000miles the other night after about 5min of driving it just stalled. Manged to get it home but keeps stalling after about 5min of running then starts and stalls. Its undrivable right now. I changed the fuel filter. Could it probably be the CPS ? I don't feel like having it towed to the dealer and since its not under warranty i figured for the price of the CPS its worth a try. Anyone have any ideas?
Hi, welcome to FTE. yes, it probably is a CPS problem. i am giving SpringerPop's advice, and telling you to unplug the electrical connection at the CPS and clean the contacts very good with acetone or something (i belive you can use acetone). plug it back in with the same CPS and see if it cures the problem. He is researching to see if most of the problems aren't the sensor, but the connection itself...
Agreed. This is good data so please let us know what happens. We have a "flaky electrical connection theory" to test and hopefully gain some insight as to what is the actual problem with CPS's.
