Anybody using the AFE 70 Series Air Intake?

This intake from AFE supposedly was dyno'd to add 50 hp, I was curious if any of you have used it or know of someone who has? Thanks

50hp? Nice advertising exaggeration. Don't believe it. Look elsewhere because there are many good units out there that deliver what u really need...large volumes of CLEAN air.

I've seen reports of a dyno test with a stock filter and without any filter and the max gain was 5hp.Now if u have a chip it might help make a 50hp gain over a crappy stock filter with that chip. It's all in the wording and what they don't always tell u.

I have the stage 2 from afe and you are right, it is expensive, but I tell you I could feel the difference after I put it on. I could also hear the difference and picked up about .75 -1.0 MPG with it. I have been tuning on cars for a while and you really can't feel a 20-25 HP increase and barely feel a 35 HP increase so I do buy into the 50 HP gain as I could feel the difference. I will find out for sure on Tuesday when I put it on the dyno. A local shop has a chassis dyno and I will get to see the real difference these mods heve made. Anyone have the factory HP and Torque specs for a 2001 Exc. 4x4 with 7.3L? Is that spec for engine only or rear wheel power?
