Another Decode Perhaps?

Thanks for any help.

Thanks, Jim...

Just picked up that pickup.

As far as the red custom interior "E" code, it now has black seats and the stearing wheel is black. I'll see what's under the seats as I know they were redone, but did the delux interiors have white steering wheels?

The truck is white and from what I see always was. Maybe it was a special order of some sort, or the door was changed?

All else makes sense though.

Thanks for the help. I'll post some pictures when the truck gets here.

Eddie.

could have had a door change, a lot of them have. could very easily have been a special or goverment order, ma bell, pacific gas and electric, and the u.s. goverment were the largest purchasers there were of first generation econolines.

Hi I just bought a 1963 Econoline pickup that s an ex-governmnt vehicle which also has a sticker on the winshield that says "EAA experimental aircraft association".It also has a gov. i.d. tag rivited to the dash with the contract #, federal stock #, etc..If anyone could point me in the right direction to help me decode the gov. id tag, that would be great, I'd realy like to find out more about it's life, and possible association with exoerimental aircraft! <p> If anyone could help me decode my vin #'s that would awesome too! here it is:<p>
090 color was blank! E103 87A A 02

I know the self explainitory ones, but the last # DSO 830405

Thanks!

If anyone could help me decode my vin #'s that would awesome too! here it is: This isn't the VIN, these numbers relate to equipment the truck has. The VIN is the number the truck uses for registration. A 6 digit DSO means the truck was a special order, which explains why there is no color code. What color was it originally?090 color was blank! E103 87A A 02 I know the self explainitory ones, but the last # DSO 830405. Thanks!

Welcome to FTE

090 = wheelbase = 90 inches
E103 = Econoline Pickup 3600 GVW
87A = Body Style = Econoline Pickup
A = Transmission Code = Ford 3 speed manual
02 Rear Axle Code = 4.11-1 / 2700 lb rear axle capacity
830405 = 83 = US Gov't Purchase; 0405 Ford Domestic Special Order Invoice Number.

The Gov't ID tag bears no relationship to the EAA, which is a group of flying enthusiasts who are interested in/build home made aircraft. I believe the HQ of the EAA is at the Oshkosh, WI airport, where there is a major "fly in" every year.
