will a c-4 be able to be switched in place of my original 3 spd and 223. my trans has a floor shift that gone back,( needs shifter rods and whatnot) also the clutch is gone.
what will be need to make the switch. will they match up?
Yeah, Sure,
If it's going in a 65 or later Slick & C-6 is for an FE engine, not something else.
Also if you get it from an F Series you won't have to Flip shifter lever & you can use a TVR / Throttle Valve Rod [aka kickdown rod] from F series thru 76. it will all fit and work for you.
If you get an FE style C-6 from a "P"-car you'll have to massage a few things to make it work as a "plug & play" installation. It all will fit but it won't work for ya without flipping a lever, getting right TVR, some car models may give you a time w/rear trans mount too.
Hey Pete, Can you take a moment and enlighten me on the lever flip? I had not known about this.
What and where do we flip? I have a car tranny in my truck and need to either flip or replace the arm one day.
