AverageF250 - your running MegaSquirt? I didn't know anyone on this forum was. That means you have tables for a 390! What throttle body are you using - when you say batch are you talking multi port batch or TBI batch? I need pictures!
Thanks for the many great responces. The Edelbrock Victor is the one I had in mind. The stats on the sheets give the operating range to be four to nine thousand RPM. The old truck won't need to run that high. It is my understanding that in order to get the engine to idle well you need 15-17 inches of vacuum for the ECC to work properly. Yes I will be putting an high energy ignition in as well as an after market control box. The goal is to have something under the hood that is different than most and to bring the technology to the 21st century. My wife will be driving this rig as well and I don't want to hear anything about the truck doesn't run right. My present truck has a high output 351 with a factory Holley and if it isn't babied when cold, it gets rather testy. Again thanks for the responces and I would like to hear more on the different ingnitions used and well as ECC's.
The Victor is probably a bit extreme for that use - EFI or carb. I'd seek out an older low profile single plane like the old Holley 300-11 or Edelbrock Steetmaster and weld/work from there. They are more street oriented in terms of runner and plenum volume and will still have plenty of room for port work.
