I have just recently noticed several small rust spots starting to appear on the roof of my '03. There isn't a single spot any where else on the body except the roof. This is not from damage, as I have had the truck since new. Anyone else have this issue, and does anyone know if it is a recall item or anything? I was pretty dissappointed to see this.

 

My 97 has the same thing, along with the normal door rust, and tailgate rust. I am going to just repaint the whole truck to solve the problem.

 

Same problem on my 97 also, just one small spot the size of a nickel is bubbling up on the roof... no rust anywhere else... (besides the inside of the bottoms of the doors but thats a given...)

 

Anyone with any newer trucks have this problem? I would expect to see this on a 97, but an '03? Seems too early for rust if you ask me. Thanks

 

My 99 has some specks on the roof that will probably become rust spots. There is a 5 year rust warrenty. You could go to the dealer and bring that up.

 

I'm pretty sure it's a five year "rust perforation" warranty, so unless these spots turn into holes by 2008, I don't think the dealer will do anything. I might be wrong on this but I'm pretty sure this is how the warranty works.
