ok, i got my truck sanded and preped for painting, this guy offered to shoot it for 200. do think thats reasonable, should i have the guy shoot it. or do some more shopping around
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 31-Dec-02 AT 01:04 PM (EST)]yeah, i supply the paint, but i'm gettin it for a little under regular price. BUT i am thinkin pearl white and i havnt checked the pricing but i am thinkin more on blue like the original color
Having painted several trucks, I understand that it takes a lot more skill than I have. I say 200 bucks is a very good price if the guy is a pro. If he's a shadetree type, keep lookin'.

I would have to lean towards the not. But then again, it depends. I had my truck painted for just the cost of paint and some beer. My best friends dad owns a dealership, and has a paint settup in his back garage. I wasnt on a time schedule so I had him sand, prime, and shoot it in his spare time, and wow, I am amazed with the results. I get constant complements, and have won one award for it at a car show. I think in the end you really do want a nice paint job because it goes through alot.....rain, wind, snow, hail, sun, dust, dirt, rocks- all of these will soon tear you paint job up unless its done nice and right. Not to mention bubbles can appear, ripples, and dull spots. Unless this guy is pro, and you just happen to know him personally and hes hooking you up, I would keep on shoppin....
