Looking for remote '56 Windshield wiper drive
The 12v drive motor I now have (mounted on the firewall) interferes with the induction system. I need to install a remote wiper drive system so I can get the current drive motor off the firewall for needed clearance.
Thanks.
Is this the sort of thing you are looking for http://www.s-v-c.co.uk/ (select wipers from side menu)
I got a used one from a Mini, 2 speed self park for less than $20 they were fitted to lots of UK cars (British Leyland, Vauxhall and Jags) in the 70s and 80s
You can mount the motor where you like, just trim the cable and tubes to suit
I can post some pic's next week if you are interested

But hey, what do I know?
I looked at the Specialty wiper kit but they don't list anything for Ford. (Do they think only Chevy's need wipers?)
B/B Ford.... On the Specialty website, they do not show a 'modified' kit. What exactly is the modified kit??? Thanks.
This is expensive but I do feel it is worth it. This kit provides a solution to a real problem I was working on.

Sounds like it's the only way to go. I went from a single quad to Weber induction with full air cleaners. The rear of the d/s rear air cleaner runs into the stock 12v wiper motor which 'hangs out' off the firewall too much. Since the truck is already painted, I don't wish to do any welding to the cowel so the moded kit is just the ticket!! Thanks very much for your assistance.
I would post a photo but I could not see any way to upload the image and I don't have a website to link to.

I ran Webers all through the 1980's and 1990's and really enjoyed the looks and performance they provided. Once you become familiar with them, they can be very user friendly. Perfomance gains are dramatic over regular carbs.
One thing that is new to me are the cool CNC'd air cleaners with K&N elements that have recently become available. The air cleaners are large so the air flow inside is not disturbed at the critical edge of the intake stacks. Webers demand smooth laminar air flow into the stack or else performance is seriously degraded. For street use, good air filtration is a must.
The rear of the large air cleaners caused the interference with the 12v wiper motor. When I get this system installed, I'll post some photos.

note; The catalog identifies them as "specialty wiper kit, modified".
