How many on this forum connected with farming? I know afew are, any more?
I used to farm untill 6 years ago when I rented it out, still live on the farm just outside of Saskatoon. Lots of room for shops and garages full of Fords plus parts trucks.
My brotherinlaw still farms, hes abouy 4 miles from my place.Been farming all his life.
I think we'll have lots off runoff this year, should fill all the dugouts and potholes in the country, which is good for waterfowl and wildlife.Hes been a gm man all his life too.
He has a 98 6.5 diesel which is giving him headaches right now, The lift pump or something .
Born and raised on a farm. I took over my Dad's farm 6 years ago, although I farmed with him for twenty years before that. I am just cropping 560 acres right now.
I don't farm, but as a kid loved working around my grandparents farm. Even today still love driving tractors and some of the work. A lot of it is easier than when I was a kid. Back then you shoveled grain into the augers and the corner of the trucks, The tracxtors are heated or a/c now with stereos. Back then open fresh air and sunbaked.
Maybe do it as a fun hobby, but not to live off these days. I'm at midlife and no cash to start up a farm. Often just thought of getting land to grow alfalfa or feed grass and sell the hay bales as a hobby to keep me busy. Nuts right???
