steering box help

what years will interchange with a 92 4x4 power steering ?
or is it woth putting a new seal in ?
it's leaking at the pitman arm

Almost all models back to about 1980 including the 2WD units have the same steering gearbox. There are not many aftermarket improvements available for them either so repair the old one or swap to another from another truck and hope that it doesn't develope the same problem. Personally, I'd have the one in the truck rebuilt or buy a unit that has been. That way you KNOW its right and should end up with at least some sort of guarantee that it will be right for a while.

I replaced the seal in the pitman are, it lasted about 2 weeks. Then I replaced the the whole box. replacing the seal is quite easy it may work.

i am have that problem, leaking pitman arm. Can u tell me how u changed the seal because it is leaking pretty good. I can change it now since spring is finally here.
