Abe,
When I bought my '56 F-100, it had 16" split rims on the back. They were "vented" (if you mean they look like the solid steel rims with the welded in centers) and the hubcaps I sent were on them also. The two fronts and the spare were solid rims.
I would imagine that the heavier trucks used the split rim configuration more than the lighter duty trucks. Just guessin' though.
Abe,.
56 was the first year for tubeless tires. If the vehicle has the orignial wheels they will be one piece. If it has split rims they came off an earlier model.
Abe asked me to post this picture of one of the rims on the front of the truck he is looking at. Can anybody tell if this is a split rim just by looking at it.
This is what I would call a split/two piece rim by the removable split ring on the outside of the rim. This outside ring is what can cause injuries by coming off with great force if damaged, rusted or improperly installed.

Yes fomoco is correct BUT these are alot more safer than the WIDOW MAKER rims.
These are the SPLIT RING style not the SPLIT RIM style.
I've run this style for years with no problems.
On the rear these are perfect as the ring is inside, if you feel uneasy about them on the front I have 3 tubeless 56 f350 wheels.
