some of yall might have seen my other thread about spendin an afternoon at the junkyard yesterday. i went back today to pick up my manifold looked like the right one got home and the waterheads at jasper put a CAR manifold on a engine goin in a TRUCK. the exhaust is bent for a C6AE manifold the manifold the guy at the junk yard gave me was a D2TE manifold and the truck collector is more straight and the car is more angled down. i am not complainin one bit about the service becuase he gave me exactly what i should have needed. so my question is why would they do that? are they just that stupid? and what should i look for to get the right manifold? it is the passenger side. also i need horn parts for a 76 what years would work? was there a harness change?
prolly the same reason why the guy b4 me put a cut out stopsign in the floor board on to of the rusted metal, or why there is some kinda piece of carpet or sponge foam inbetween my transmission and the shifter cap, ( still havnt gotten in there to see what it is thou. i feel ya on why people do weird things
Should start a "Crazy things you've found in your car" thread. I once found an old bag of pot in a car I'd had for 3 years--was cleaning it up to sell.
i needed the C6AE got the D2TE becuase i said it is a 390 and its for a truck. i figured they put the engine in a truck they would put truck manifolds on it. it has a true dual exhaust and its bent for the car manifold.
I found a nail stuck in the master cylinder once while replacing the pads .
Found out the nail was because the brake line was tore from the disc brake valve on the frame ( I had no front brakes till i found this)

You got me... Why do you want '66 Galaxie manifolds for your truck???
You got me... Why do you want '66 Galaxie manifolds for your truck???
C6=1968
A= Galaxie
E=Engine
D2=1972
T=Truck
E=Engine.
i know they are not the right ones that is what the rant is about, when jasper rebuilt the engine and put it in the truck they put car manifolds on it, one of them has a 2" chunk blown out of it and the one for a truck wont connect to the exhaust becuase the car manifold opening is angled down mor than the truck one.
