Welcome to the wild and wacky world of Mustang GT's. My guess is they wanted 2-3K over window for the new one. Out here, a GT is almost a guaranteed 6 month wait- and the way the market is, i think new is the better buy. Doesn't make sense, I know.
At my local dealer today, they had two 2006 GT's one coupe one convertable. The convertable MSRP was $33K and change then stated "adjusted market value" of $5k for a number of $37K and change. The coupe also had a $5k market charge.
