84 f250 timing problem

when i went to check my timing on my I6 f250, i couldnt find the black wire that the decal said to disconnect. where is the wire? or what would the wire be connected to.

shouldn't it be the only other wire coming out of the distributor that doesn't go to a spark plug or the coil? i think it comes out of the bottom...

there are more wires

i thought that would be the case, but i found 2 multiwire connectos and 2 of them are black

No expert but I would think the only thing you would have to disconnect would be the vacuum line from the carb. Plug it, time it, then when you reconnect it should pick the idle up just a little.
