460 in a 71?

did the 71 F250 ever come with a 460? I have the opportunity to get a truck (100 miles away) supposed to have an original 460, I have only ever seen FE engines in these trucks. I dont want to get all the way there and find it has an FE.

no the 460 did not come in that truck, 360 is more like it if it is the original engine unless someone changed it. the 460 wasn't a option until 73.

Ask the owner to count the valve cover bolts, that will tell right away.

Windsor - 6

335 - 8

FE - 5

385 - 7
