The 2006 F-150 accessories catalog shows an item called TripTunes for hooking up your IPod to the head unit. Went to my local Ford dealer today. The parts guy knew nothing, so he called Ford. Ford's response was "That's only for Focus, Ranger and Mustang, not for F1-150 - and we don't have any". !!!
Anyone have further intel on this? It makes no sense to me that it is model specific in that it should plug into an AUX input or the antenna line directly, so what diff. does the model make?
Thanks for any help or clarification on this. I really want to get my IPod hooked up in my '06 150.

There is a triptunes model made for the 06 F-150, ask for part number 6R3Z-19A464-AA and it is $50.00. This model uses the antenna line..aka a RF type. I have 06 and I am going to go with something else that uses the AUX port for better sound quality.
For the 06 F150 you should be able to get a Brandmotion adapter that will hook up your iPod to the factory stereo and allow you to charge/control/play it through the stock stereo. I suggest you check them out.
I decided on the iSimple from Peripheral (isimplesolutions.com). It will hook up your iPod to the factory stereo and allow you to charge/control/play it through the AUX port on the stock stereo. I got mine for $99.00. You have to be patient and learn how it works, but it is well worth the $99!
