x-cab rust
anyone here have a problem with rust behind the bottom of the door, underneath the window on extended cab fullsize's? if so, any easy remedies? i tried cleaning, sanding, using that rust-stop spray(any opinions?) and painting, but it kept spreading.

About the only thing you can do is to sandblast. The inside bottom of the door is it rusting were the outer skin folds over the iner door frame? If it is you can sand blast it clean then use a etch primer. Then use a seam sealer over that then seal and paint. It may fix it but thats a common area on most all cars because underneith that lip is bare metal, it doesnt get primer there from the factory.
As for the window is the rust coming from under the window? If is coming from behind the glass or the glass molding you are going to have to take the glass out.

The best chance without replacing is to get after it in a real solid way- you need to get rid of as much of the infected metal as you can- sandblast or a lot of work with grinding etc then get panels with adhesive or a weld and a ton of POR or equivalent. you obviously can't reverse the damage and taking a swing at it with cheapo rust inhibitor spray w/o the above will not work. No easy answers when it comes to rust...aka cancer.
