I have a "Big Back Window" like the 1956 Ford trucks. This one came from a 1961 Unibody. I have the window frame. The truck was in the junkyard and they wouldn't sell the truck, only parts. I was wondering if anyone has put one in a 1966? I'm thinking of doing it.
One of our members built one. It's not a weekend job. His name is Chad, and you can put out a call for him on our message board: Mid-Atlantic Slick 60s
Chad and his dad were my inspiration too. I put mine on because my cab was dropped off a trailer and the original roof was all oil-canned.
I got the entire unibody roof, and the cut was made on the windshield 'A' pillars at the factory seam, and at the bodyline where the roof hits the cab.
I had a professional body man do mine, a guy who had done many roof chops before. He put 80 hours in my cab, about 70 of which was installing that roof.
LOL, Man you should have been there....they actually started the roof 2 weeks before the supernationals.....worked like slaves and had it ready to leave on monday mornin the seam seal was still wet as Chad was driving down the road.....
I went down the weekend before and was like "there is no way you guys will be ready"
Wyatts a magician, in getting that one done....
The really fun part was standing on the bacalony watching all the spectators doing a double take as it wa not a uni....
