Proper tool for busting rock

Thanks for all the advice.
I ended up using all four bags of dexpan and the stuff really did the job. The only problem was that it took the stuff about 48 hours to break the rock - which I found out after I pretty much wasted the first two bags. I don't know if I had the wrong temperature material (I had Dexpan II) or if I didn't apply it correctly or what but the longer it stayed in the hole, the better it broke the rock.
As it turned out I had to break just about one cubic yard of rock and a concrete slab that was also buried in the way. Finished all the digging out yesterday. Anyone need some broken rock - it's very hard granite.
