Lowering truck ?

I have a 1977 f100 that I would like to lower some. I am thinking of cutting a coil and a half out of the front and using lowering blocks in the rear. However, this is a truck that is used as a truck - a load of mulch here, an engine block there, nothing real heavy. But I do want to be able to continue using it this way. Recommendations?

I think we have done just about ruined GF2501 thread and original post about smaller tires with talk of paint, wheel spacers, and lowering.
But Sbilbrey if do a search on here for lowering you'll get a lot of threads.

i have a 75 F-150 4x2 that hasn't been lowered.. yet. I have 15 inch rims (same size as stock) but put on 265/50R15 on it all the way around. it looks alright, but when i drop it with some drop beams and some shackles and hangers, it'll look a lot better. I'm gonna get bigger rims and put taller tires in back, but keep about the same height tire in front. the guy at the tire store when i got these a few years back suggested 295/50R15 on the back and said that he's had guys with older camaros use that setup.. but this isn't a camaro and I really don't like the look of tires sticking out past the fenders. but that's just me. the 265's being 50 series bring the sidewalls right to the edge of the fender. check out my gallery if you want a peek at it.
