My 1991 F250 5.0 lugs down when rpm is increased, both at idle and driving. Kinda like the air intake is restricted (its not). Installed new plugs, wires, cap, rotor and no improvement. Any suggestions where I should start looking for the cause? Thanks.
hello. My friends jeep would bog down and i figured it out that it was a plugged cataldic converter. What you should do is try to take it off and see if that helps my friends was so plugged his jeep would even stall.

I was actually trying to research the same problem... my truck lugs likes its missing, I have checked the fuel pressure and it hovers around 32 at both idle and revved. I have new cap, rotor, plugs, replaced coil, new fuel pressure regulator. I'm at a loss, I was thinking about trying a module, but generally those are just on or off kind of things aren't they? I have headers and dual exhaust with no cats. my 02 sensor is old, but it lugs from startup. wouldn't it have to warm up and go into closed-loop mode before that would effect the running of the engine.
Any suggestions as to where to go from here, the only things I can think of are new injectors, and checking compression(but I'm fairly sure that's not it).
thanks
*** Also replaced TPS sensor.

My truck, 5.0L, EFI, had a similar problem. I would not take a throttle much above idle. It turned out to be a very clogged exhaust catalytic converter. It drove me crazy until I decided to check engine vacuum, by placing a vacuum gage on the manifold tree and operating the engine. It became obvious that there was a restriction in the exhaust.
