66 Bed Swap

Hi everyone! I have a 66 swb. My problem is the bed is in bad shape and I believe I would be better off swapping it out. My question is what year(s) what swap and have the proper body lines? Thanks for any input.

The 64-66 will do it. The older trucks had a differant bed style.

Unless you're into an exact restoration you can fudge a little on the tailgate. The 67-72 is an exact fit with different lettering. Hinges, tailgate hardware, etc. are identical.

From your profile it appears you are near the east side of the country. Too bad , I just happen to have a 66 box that is in decent shape I am trying to peddle but I am in the NW.

The guy mentioned proper body lines. Wouldnt a 67-72 look a LOT different as far as the wheel wells and beltline. I'm not sure myself but I was thinking the later models didnt have that cool "slick" look. Worth finding out about if he wants his truck to look right.

Greg. You are absolutely right about the 67-72 "bumpside" box not looking right on a "Slick". But I think he was only referring to the tailgate.

The beds look a lot different. I was only discussing the tailgates being nearly the same.
