E4OD trans temp gauge...where to mount?

i have an E4OD mounted behind a 7.3 IDI. i was wondering where to put a trans temp gauge. which line is the hot one? the one towards the rear of the trans or the one towards the front? i am thinking the front one b/c thats where the pump is correct? the rear one just dumps the fluid in the pan correct? i could be wrong.

There is a port on the driver's side of the trans, near the front, just above the pan. There is a black hex head plug in it. That's a good place to mount the sensor.

If you want to do it in the lines, the front one is the hotter of the two.

ok thanks i didnt know you could put a sensor where the plug was. that would be easier than splicing into the line.
