this week i will be getting a 2005 e350 and I was just wondering if it is really possible to get the 15 mpg city/ 19 mpg highway like I keep on reading all over on car review sites.
Not me, I've been a consistent 13 mpg, but that's mostly local driving. So the low end of 15 that you mentioned is quite a bit higher than what I've gotten.
I've driven mine 17000 miles since jan. my best milage was 17.96 mpg and my low was 14.36 mpg this is with 5.4 extended e 250. I drive it really easy but alot of freeway miles.
I would imagine the reviews mean "No wind", "constant speed (stay low and no leadfooting)", "complete tuneup", "Windows up" et.c. In otherwords: Perfect conditions for the test driver getting the most out of the test vehicle.
Under normal, real conditions, gas mileage would be variable depending on the non test driver's habits.
