Question Weird noise when rev.

I noticed now for a while that when I rev my engine in park I hear a noise like a bolt is rattling around in the oil pan or something like that and it doesnt always do it. It only does it when it is parked or in neutral and it doesnt make the sound when under a load such as driving conditions. Is something loose or cound that be pinging possibly? maybe something with the flex plate or TQ converter, Tranny problems? and suggestions would help.. Thanks
-Mike

My rattle is the heat shield on the cat. converter. The atttaching bolts rust away.

maybe the thin heat shields that are around the spark plugs are loose and are rattling around.

Trying to solve a noise on line is nearly impossible unless it is a common noise like a belt. All you can do is make the noise happen and crawl around the engine until you can pinpoint it. I would think that it is not in your engine but sounds like it is. I would say check all the things that make noise when going bad. Like your ujoints
