A while back I found a thread that explained how to change the timing on the Edge Evolution. I think ASEMechanic posted it. Now I cant find it.
All i need to know is what the guideline is on changing the "Timing Adv." field. I'm using the Tow (89 octane) setting and filling up with 92 octane. How do I adjust the timing so i benefit from using the 92 on the Tow setting or 92 on the Performance setting?
These are ideal values at sea level. At altitude, you should be able to add another degree per 2500 ft.
5000 ft. = +2 deg.
Just so you know, I can run level 3, +3 deg at 4500 ft with 91 octane. 4 to 4.5 degrees gets me a nice rattle on heavy throttle tip-in (low RPM throttle stomp) but actually drives quite nicely on the highway giving me another +.25 to +.5 MPG at 70 MPH versus +3 degrees timing.
How do I advance the the timing my options do not show alisting for timing advance? Is this something added from the downloads from the lightning software? My EVO is still w/the original software. s

Your octane settings in the performance settings is the same as the updated timing. Yes, it was changed from octane to timing a few upgrades back. I think that a step up from say, 91 to 93 octane is the same as 1.0+ degree timing increase. I think that's what ASEMechanic (Bill) was explaining in his post. My opinion is you don't have to update, just be aware that they're supposed to be the same, just named differently.
