Here I go again

I know this has been a rollercoaster for us all. I have found an 02 larait with 45 k and supposedly no mods. It is in Baton Rouge, which is about 1 hour away. Here is the catch. They are asking $36900 for the truck. Now if memory serves me, you could get it brand new for that price. I am willing to go as high as 28-29k if everything is perfect.

The truck is Tan with a Tan interior. Neither of which I like very much, but if everything else is right, I'll have to live with it.

Where would you value a truck like this. Virgin 02 loaded 4x4 supposedly super clean 45k miles.

crewcab? my truck in stock form with 69K miles was just around $25K. don't go higher than $29K. for $10000 more, you can get a new one.

$36900???way too high!!! it has PMR and that alone should drop it to $24000.

Way too much. I think they are trying to take advantage of someone after a 7.3, cuz for just a bit more you can get a new one.

I have got to get up to red stick to get an eyeful of this truck. I agree that they are crazy. I'll have to see what they will go for (if everything is right). I have walked away from quite a few rides lately.

I paid just a tick over 36K for my 01 brand new. Almost 37 for a 4 year old truck is rediculous. It's highly unlikely that they will cme down to what that truck is actually worth, which is maybe 30,000 if it's perfect and has every option. 27-28K is more likely.

Thanks for the advice. I am not going to force it. I'll go 29k, but for some reason that 30k mark is just unreasonable to me. I am going to start at 27k and see what happens. With all the honey do's that I have to get done, I am going to have to fight to even see the damn thing.

I bought my 2002 XLT last april for 26,500 CANADIAN dollars...the window sticker was still in the glove box and it was 51,400 canada dollars with all the options off the lot. It only had 60,000km and that was bought from a dealer....think about that

That's a steep price, but if it's a 7.3 and the seller knows what he can get for it, regardless of what the NADA says, he just might hold out.
Until something better than the 7.3 comes along the value will continue to climb.
You should see what a VW Syncro Westfalia Camper van goes for these days. In good condition they will bring in $25k with 200,000 miles on them.

make sure to check for water damage if you do decide to buy a truck from that part of the world. they are still trying to get rid of Rita / Katrina ruined vehicles.

I did a carfax on it. The truck came out of brookhaven mississippi. Which is well north of the flood zone. I live 30 miles NW of new orleans.

I dont even consider anything that came out of New ORleans or Chalmette. I also dont buy anthing from GC of Mississippi or through alabama. Alabama only because they dont have to declare flood on the title there. The titles can be washed in that state.

OK this is embarrassing. The truck is 2004. Stupid $%^&!. She told me it had a 7.3 and that it was an 02. She got confused because they had 2 and sold the 7.3.

I am almost done looking and definately done posting about leads on here. You guys must think I am an idiot, a liar, or some combination of both.

Check the PM I left you. Those guys are quite a drive away, but they saved me $8k to $10k. Tell them you need a 7.3, I'll bet they can find a good one for you.
