At idle, it should hold a steady 20' vacuum.
Driving it's going to be all over the place depending on load. The idea is, the higher you can hold the vacuum, the better your economy. If you did nothing but the vacuum gauge, and let that be your guide as to how you step on the throttle, your milage will increase if you pay close attention to it.

I knew a guy who put a sponge under his gas pedal, just so he would notice he was mashing it.

Need more help...where do I install the sender for the vacuum gauge?

There is not sender, just a vacuum line. Tee it into any source of manifold vacuum.

You should have a vacuum 'tree' on the intake manifold. This is a fitting that screws into the manifold and has several branches which provides vauccum to various componants. Just cut one of the vacuum lines and put a 'T' in it which will provide you with a nipple to plug your gauge into.

Does the vacum thing work for v-8 motors, I noticed it referenced 4 cylinder motors.

Yes, it's a one gauge fits all kind of deal.

i am trying the acetone now along with a few other poeple i know with a focus ( no body has lost mpg or told me of any die afects in a bad way ) and i got 2 out of it right there so i dont think it is all B.S. on the site
